GO THROUGH A CONSCIOUS REMORSE PROCESS

The purpose of the Universe is evolution. This means that the person you are now is different than the person you were in the past. You are now a different person because you have acquired more consciousness. You have become aware of things that you did not know you were not aware of. One side-effect of this condition is the pain of remorse.
In the past, you have said things, done things, made decisions, created things (or not) that can not be undone. Looking back with more consciousness than you had allows you to be touched by what could have been possible. You can not change the past, but you can heal it.
For this experiment, ask someone to hold a listening space for you to go through a Conscious Remorse Process.
First, ask your spaceholder to read this experiment.
Sit facing one another.
Spaceholder, ask "what happened?" Create a safe listening space for the person in front of you to share what emerges. Allow the feelings, the tears, the sounds to come out.
Ask "what really touches you?"
"What could have been different?"
"What do you wish you could have created?"
Spaceholder, keep listening while staying in connection with the person in front of you. Make sure that you keep your Sword of Clarity out so that they do not start beating themselves up.
When there is nothing else to say, stay in silence for some time.
When you are ready, ask "do you need anything, like water or a blanket?"
Ask them if they want you to stay with them in silence or leave them to rest and integrate what just happened.
Conscious remorse is an expansive integration process. Feeling the pain of what could have been possible changes your shape and creates a sensitivity in you that was not there before. You might want to set up a meeting with someone to apologize or to write them a letter. In any case, do not use your remorse as a reason to beat yourself up.

You might start this experiment with just sensing your feelings about the upcoming journey into sadness. You might tend to avoid feeling sadness for plenty of reasons. None of your potential emotional fears will turn real:
you will not drown. Instead you might find a precious way to deepen your connectability to yourself and others.Reserve 45 minutes for a space for yourself. Tell people you might make noise, you'll be fine, nobody has to rescue you. Have tissues nearby, maybe a blanket and your Beep! Book. You might also turn on music, that touches your heart (exemplary Beethoven: 7th symphony; Melissa Etheridge: Precious Pain; R.E.M.: Everybody Hurts, Robbie Williams: Angels; Souad Massi: Deb, Le Bien et le mal; Imagine Dragons: Mad World, ..).
Lay in the most comfortable position possible on your back (on an air mattress in the water, a rug in the middle of the living room, ..). Set a timer for 30 minutes.
Lay there and find your heart. This might turn out difficult because you first will be using your mind to try to find your heart. Your physical heart is located between your lungs in the middle of your chest, behind and slightly to the left of your breastbone (sternum). To help yourself place your palms in the middle of your chest. Focus on sensing warmth from your hands to your heart. Say "Hello heart". Wait and then say "Hello heart" again. Then say "I welcome you back into my life".
In that moment you may feel uncomfortable sensations of tears coming to your eyes, of tightness in your throat, or ache in your heart area. This is the beginning of feeling sadness so do not worry. You might find yourself going up into your head and mind to figure out what's going on - go back into your body and into the pureness of feeling. Be open for anything that comes up. This is a journey - and it will proceed in various ways.
Perhaps ….you get images or scenes in your mind and heart
you will have the sensation of missing someone or something that you have not experienced for a while
your heart may simply want more intense experience of this ache and your throat
you perceive `nothing` - which corresponds to a temporary numbness - and feeling this you might be guided into sadness about not feeling sadness.
This experiment is to welcome your heart back and to let the sadness lead the journey. Let the experience lead the journey. Do not try to understand it. Do not try to make something out of it.
Simply go on the journey for 30 minutes and then slowly come to a stop and at the end and say “Hello heart of sadness, what do you have for me?"
Write down in your Beep! Book any messages or insights that your heart of sadness gives to you.

RECONNECT WITH YOUR CHILDHOOD SADNESS

There is a 97% chance of you as a child not getting the chance to work through your moments of loss and disappointment. If these are not completed, they will stay in your emotional body and keep unconsciously influencing your current life.
You need a person or a team (e.g. a Possibility Team), that can hold space for you.
Reserve approx. 45 mins.Spaceholder instruction:
Center. Close your eyes. Go into your heart and dive for all these grievous events, where
- you did not get something that you badly wanted or needed
- you were taken away something or somebody very dear or precious to you
- something was much too short or not sufficient
(Examples: friends you lost when moving to a different place, a Teddy Bear, your granny, somebody died around you, a party space that you didn't want to end, a music instrument you were not allowed to play, disappointing Christmas presents, ….)
- Let first five or more issues come on the surface. Then pick the three most emotional ones. Start with the first one.
- Go back to that moment when it ended or you lost it. A part of your heart is stuck in this place because nobody was there with you to grieve for the loss.
- The very grieving process: before the words come, let the Sadness and other feelings come first. And then you can start letting the Sadness speak, what was so painful about it, what you miss about it, why you didn't want it to end.
- Let the sadness speak for 10-15 minutes at least for each thing.
You can offer this process reversely to somebody else or in a team.

TOUCH BASE WITH ANONYMOUS ALCOHOLICS

There are not many spaces in modern society where people are encouraged to be there with their brokenness, pain and grief as a first step to healing. The Anonymous Alcoholics offer such an opportunity across the globe.
Find an AA meeting happening in your area.Arrange to go to 2-3 meetings a week for the next 2-3 weeks.
You not have to be addicted to alcohol / drugs / sex / shopping / lying / etc. to be in a meeting, that is declared open. Bring a box of handkerchiefs / tissues with you intentionally.
Let each person sharing be a pathway into your own sadness and when you find it let it fill up the space and let it get all the way big.
If the spaceholder invites you to also speak about what's going on for you, then just say what you're sad about. Being there with your authentic feelings. Openness to be vulnerable is already enough.
Report back to your PTeam, how your experience changed your inner landscape of sadness.

YOUR PARENTS SADNESS

Due to the imagined role of being an authority for their kids, parents are very likely not to show their vulnerabilies, inparticular sadness and fear. Trying to hide these emotions you still might have picked up on them in an unconscious way.
Make an appointment with your mother or your father, but not at the same time. Private space, not cafe or public space. Ask your parent if she/he wants to make a little journey into your childhood and about exploring the field of sadness. You might have to explain that it is not about digging out old wounds or about mistakes in education. Give her a very brief context about sadness as a useful feeling for saying farewell to beings and objects in our life. You can tell her that you are using a different thoughtmap for feelings where sadness is one of the 4 neutral sources of energy and information that is valuable for your life.
Start by asking "What key can you give me to consciously experience my sadness as a healing process". Then listen to whatever she/he says. Tell her/him that you're afraid to let her/him see your sadness and tell why you are afraid for her/him to see your sadness.
Other questions you could ask:
"Which part did sadness play in your adult life and especially when I was a kid?"
"What events and conditions have made you sad at that time?"

I FEEL SAD BECAUSE...

Do this quite religiously for the next 3 days.
Every conversation that you are in you start by saying "I feel sad about this ... because..."
You don't need to know what the sadness is about before you begin saying it.
This is a practice in letting your heart speak ongoingly. It becomes not the exception but the more ordinary way of communicating. You should use that sentence at least 15-20 times during one day for 3 days.
And a hint: if the people across from you try to fix you or think you have a problem, be clear that you don't want them to do anything about your sadness and that you're letting your heart speak and there's nothing to fix about that. If they don't know what to say you can tell them to just say thank you.

The power of Sadness does not dwell in your head. It's in your heart an in your body. Thats why you have to do handwriting in this experiment - and not typing.
Twice a week for the next 3 weeks, open your Beep! Book and let Sadness power your pen and write words for 20 minutes.
Make sure to chose different days of the week and different time of the day. At lunch, out at the beach, in your garage, before going to bed, in the middle of the day, there's no restrictions on the writing. It does not have to rhyme. It does not have to be logical or make sense. Let just sadness power your pen.
Give Sadness a voice through your writing. In particular, use new Sadness vocabulary come out as you are exploring your inner world of Sadness.
